About Mehoni Primary Hospital

Mehoni Primary Hospital is a healthcare facility located in Mehoni(also Mekoni),Tigray,Ethiopia. From its humble beginnings as a small clinic, it has steadily expanded to meet the growing needs of the region. Today, with its strategic location and broad service coverage, Mehoni Primary Hospital plays a crucial role in delivering essential care to its surrounding communities. The hospital provides essential medical services to a catchment population of around 500,000 people, including residents of Raya Azebo, Raya Chercher, Mehoni Town, Wojerat, Raya Alamata, Alamata, Maychew,parts of the Afar region, and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

History

  • 🌾 1962 - 1988:Functioned as a clinic, providing basic healthcare services.
  • 🌾 1988(Jan) - 2005:Upgraded to a Health Center, expanding its capacity and services.
  • 🌾 Since 2005: Established as a Primary Hospital, offering comprehensive healthcare to the community.
